Castle asks if there is a pattern. - Violence is increasing - robbers are getting bolder, escalating.
Castle asks how robbers are getting info about jewelry, since it's the only connection so far.
Det. Ryan runs down a list of ways victims are not connected.
Castle suggests that since robbers know so much about victims, maybe the robbers actually know the victims. Det. Ryan suggests maybe victim's daughter, Joanne Delgado, might be able to help them with that.

Figure robbers had top-end skills to get into the high-end security buildings. Must have used more than regular bump-keys to get through door locks. Esposito recalls a thief he busted a while back who was good with bump-keys and wasn't afraid of violence. He got out of jail two weeks before the first robbery-homicide. The Captain sends the detectives to bring in this thief.
INT. POLICE INTERROGATION ROOM - Castle, Beckett, and Capt. Montgomery watch through two-way as Ryan and Esposito bring in EVAN MITCHELL'S bagged gun.
Beckett gets nowhere with seasoned Mitchell in interrogation. Mitchell provides an alibi.
INT. POLICE STATION - Capt. says they have nothing to hold Mitchell with. Plus Mitchell was being arraigned during time of first robbery-homicide.
INT. POLICE STATION, SHOOTING RANGE - Beckett is upset that she is not keeping her promise to Joanne. Castle tries to talk her down.
Castle makes fun of Beckett's shooting. She challenges Castle. Castle manages to make her smile with his lousy shooting.
Castle asks to take home the photos of the stolen jewelry. Beckett says he can have them if Castle can manage to land a decent hit with his next three shots. He lands all three perfectly - he was faking.
INT. CASTLE'S APARTMENT - Castle, Martha, and Alexis look over the pictures of the jewelry.
Castle thinking of installing more security, maybe even a panic room.

Martha suggests CAINE POWELL - a jewel thief Castle angered by basing a character on him in one of his books, then actually naming him in the book's acknowledgements. Powell wants to see the latest crime scene.
INT. VICTIM'S POSH APARTMENT - Castle and Powell break in.
Powell says the violence was brutality for brutality's sake - the robbers were after violence as much as jewelry.
They hear noises. Powell disappears.
Beckett enters, finding Castle.
INT. POLICE STATION - Castle and Beckett argue over bringing Powell to the crime scene.
Castle wants to talk to Mitchell alone - due to Powell mentioning the close circles of the thief underworld.
INT. POLICE STATION, HOLDING CELL - Castle butters up Mitchell by asking for his help for his next book.
Mitchell doesn't want to run into this new crew - they're too dark.
Mitchell says someone came around a few months back looking to put together a new crew. This guy said he had eyes on the inside. Mitchell just gave this guy a bump-key to get rid of him - he was too dark for Mitchell's taste. Castle asks Mitchell to describe the guy for the sake of being authentic in the new book.
INT. POLICE STATION - Show sketch of Mitchell's too-dark guy to Joanne Delgado. She doesn't recognize him.
Castle asks if Joanne's mother wore the jewelry out much. No, only to special events. - "Eyes inside."

INT. BECKETT'S APARTMENT/CASTLE'S APARTMENT - Beckett and Lanie try to find a dress Beckett can wear.
Castle won't tell Martha where the party is because she'll show up.
A package arrives. Beckett and Lanie check out the dress Castle has sent.
Beckett shows up at Castle's. Martha gives her jewelry to wear and gets location of event out of her.

EXT/INT. SKETCH GUY'S APARTMENT BUILDING - Beckett tells Castle to stay in the car.
Find sketch guy's apartment, he must have just been there. Sketch guy returns, sees police, runs.
Sketch guy lands on the car. Castle fights him. Beckett saves Castle.
INT. VICTIM'S POSH APARTMENT - Beckett returns stolen property to Joanne Delgado. They bond over loss of a loved one.
INT. CASTLE'S APARTMENT - Beckett brings back Martha's jewelry. They invite her in for breakfast.
